For What?
I wouldn’t ask for you,
But I would die for you.
Thinking how much
I can keep doing,
Keep creating,
Keep you in my sight
So I don’t lose you.
It’s tragic for a man who can’t say no,
It’s magical how you always feel welcome in my home.
I trudge through my days—
For what? Just to make you feel my presence.
It doesn’t feel right anymore,
How you keep abandoning me,
How you place me first yet make me feel last.
I ask myself every time you call:
Should I answer?
Should I say yes?
Should I lie
That you are the one?
I do the most for you,
So you don’t take me for granted.
